Uber or Lyft drivers could face the maximum financial risk in an accident. According to a survey conducted by SherpaShare, 1,022 rideshare drivers, 77% of the total percentage of drivers, have not purchased additional ridesharing insurance coverage beyond what is offered by Uber. Uber offers coverage of up to $1 million in an accident. However, this is applicable only when drivers have a passenger in the car or are on the way to pick up a rider. Liability coverage If an Uber driver has an accident while waiting for a passenger, the coverage can be up to a maximum of $100,000 per accident to cover liability for injuries incurred. This is almost double the amount of liability coverage of an average U.S. driver.https://goo.gl/FBrJKR
