Sam Bridge Nursery & Greenhouses, LLC "Where people go to find a wide selection of beautiful plants, locally grown products, and expert advice since 1930" We are a year round garden center complete with a landscape design and installation department. We are well known for our exceptional quality and outstanding customer service. Specialties We grow over 500,000 annuals, 50,000 perennials, 3,000 poinsettias, and 1,000 roses each year in our greenhouses. Trees and shrubs are bought from local and west coast growers. There is a full line of garden supplies and free garden classes. We also offer several childrens activities throughout the spring and fall. We have our own Pumpkin Patch in the month of October, complete with free hayrides! In December we carry cut Fraser Fir Christmas trees, wreaths, roping, centerpieces, and more! History Established in 1930 Started by Sam Bridge Jr in 1930 on his father's farm on Doubling Road in Greenwich, CT. His wife, Mary, owned the Reynolds farm on North Street also in Greenwich, which had been in her family since 1686. They decided to move the nursery there in 1955. Growing only rock garden plants and perennials, a 100' greenhouse was added. Annuals and seasonal crops such as Easter Lilies, Poinsettias & Chrysanthemums were added. Today the three children Sam III, Mary Jo Palmer, and Ron along with 3 of the grandchildren, Bill Palmer, Maggie and Nick Bridge take care of business. Many more products and services have been added including landscape design, installation and new in 2009 Premier Garden Care. "Mr. Bridge" is 95 years young and still comes to work everyday.
