Gallant Background Checks Staff has dedicated their time and resources to help with getting Pledges for the Veterans Service Center. You can go to our site and download the pledge sheet. Dear Friends of American Veterans and the Cherokee Nation: Today you and I - all Americans - have a reason to be Thankful, but walk the wards of any VA Hospital, look around the many parks the United States at the homeless vets and even look within your families and you will find men and women who served those agonizing years fighting for Our countries wars. Time does not have a cure what a mortar shell does to a veterans legs - or what two years in a P.O.W. Interrogation Camp does to their mind, therefore as Americans we must remember these sacrifices and be willing to help even beyond tax supported hospitals and services or a pension check. This is Your opportunity to give back to those men and women who sacrificed everything for Our Country. The Cherokee Nation currently offers services to all Veterans entirely without charge. Whatever the problem involves, compensation, vocational rehabilitation, or any of a hundred other things, Cherokee Nation is always ready to give them the support they need. Again, more than tax dollars are needed to fill the lonely hours that sometimes stretch into years. Cherokee Nation has a vision for supporting our Veteran's and that vision is for our communities to come together and Give back to our Veteran's through creation of a Veterans Service Center. The Cherokee holds dearly to Our Mission Statement of Ga-du-gi, this means Working Together for the Common Good of All. We firmly believe that through the Spirit of Ga-du-gi our communities can come together to accomplish the development of a Veterans Service Center. Some of the ways you will have the opportunity to give back include volunteering your time and expertise, contributing building materials or making monetary donations. Some of you may be asking why Cherokee Nation doesn't just fund this project and contract with someone to build this center. The estimated total cost for completing this project is $2,100,000 of which Cherokee Nation has Contributed $500,000; it is our desire for the remaining amount to come from contributors who also want to make a difference in the life of a Veteran. We want our Veterans to know that we are willing to sacrifice by giving back our personal time and resources, just as they did for us. Remember, this center is not just for Veterans that are citizens of the Cherokee Nation, it is for ALL VETERANS. Whatever you can give through time, material donations(designated in the construction documents) or monetarily-$5, $10, $25 or more - means so much to those who gave so much, and please remember, YOUR CONTRIBUTION WILL GO DIRECTLY TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE VETERANS SERVICE CENTER.
