In 1940, after serving his country as a captain in the Air Force during WWII, Dr. David Tavel began his optical career and opened the first Dr. Tavel office in the Claypool Hotel in Downtown Indianapolis. Dr. Tavel’s business philosophy was, and always has been, providing excellent vision care while offering stylish, yet affordable, eyewear at locations convenient for all Hoosiers. Today, Dr. Tavel is still a family-owned business operating 23 store locations across Indiana. Each store offers a range of eye health services that help patients correct and protect their vision.
