Jess Gambrell is a Texas criminal defense attorney with The Medlin Law Firm who brings a unique perspective to his legal practice after spending a decade working in logistics. His experience outside the legal field has given him a practical understanding of the challenges clients face when a DWI or other criminal charge threatens their employment, driver’s license, finances, and daily life.

A native of Tarrant County, Jess understands the local community and the legal challenges Texans face when accused of a crime. Before entering private criminal defense, he served as an Assistant District Attorney in Tarrant County and an Assistant County Attorney in Williamson County, prosecuting misdemeanor and felony cases from intake through trial and appeal. This experience gives him valuable insight into prosecutorial strategies and how the State builds its cases.

Jess earned his Juris Doctor from Baylor University School of Law and his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Pitzer College. He has been licensed to practice law in Texas since 2019 and is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the Texas Bar College, and the Tarrant County Bar Association.
