I trained initially in Pathology but changed to Psychiatry after recognizing the importance of emotional health and well-being to people's physical health.It distresses me greatly to recognize that there are so many more people who want and need help that medication cannot give them, and may truly want and need psychotherapy they cannot afford. This has led to the decision to begin doing a lot more writing and speaking to reach out to larger numbers of people.
