An intensive is a period of counseling over 3-5 days that allows you, with the assistance of a trained therapist, to get to the root of your issues. Weekly relationship counseling is quite effective. But, when a partnership is in crisis or feeling challenged, stuck, and overwhelmed, the start-and-stop of weekly sessions can make it difficult to get to the root cause—you come in, unpack the week, feel hopeful, go home, experience more conflict, hope goes away.
