If you are trespassing, at least close the gate! An obscure law in Mississippi states that if any person opens a gate and leaves it open, without the permission of the owner, he or she shall pay the owner $20.00 for each offense. In addition to the penalty, the trespasser would be liable for any and all damages arising from the gate being left open.
