ATO electric CNC spindle motors with air cooled type spindle motor from 800W to 7.5kW and water cooled spindle motor from 1.5kW to 6kW, which are high-precision, high-reliability electric motors. These are for use with industrial 3 and 5 axis CNC routers. They are also used on CNC milling machines and robots. Quick-change, automatic tool change (ATC) and manual tool change options are available. In addition, spindles have various cooling methods including air cooled and liquid cooled. The CNC spindle is the heart of any mill. It consists of a rotating assembly with a taper where tool holders may be installed. A CNC spindle motor with optional transmission of some kind rotates the CNC spindle. The transmission matches the highest power rpm range of the CNC spindle motor to the spindle rpms that are ideal for the particular speeds and feeds of the material being cut.
