The selection for this month is Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng. It is a book set in a suburb of Cleveland in the 1990s about the seemingly perfect Richardson family and the mother-daughter duo who upended their lives.
Class Prerequisites: Intro to Basic Sewing Skills and/or EC sewing machine certification.
Required Materials: A sewing machine and all materials will be provided.

Alma Katsu is an award-winning author of novels, most recently The Deep and The Hunger. Prior to the publication of her first novel, she had a thirty-five-year career as a senior intelligence analyst for several U.S. agencies, including the CIA and NSA, as well as RAND, the global policy think tank. Katsu is a graduate of the master's writing program at the Johns Hopkins University and received her bachelor's degree from Brandeis University. She lives outside of Washington, D.C., with her husband, where she is a consultant to government and private industry on future trends and analytic methods.

Join us as we welcome the Literacy Council of Carroll County to Mount Airy, where a staff representative will be on hand to discuss the organization's adult services. Drop-in hours are from 1 until 4 PM. Council staff will answer your questions or register you for free services. This information session will be available in English and in Spanish.
