71 defendants had their cases "scratched" on Tuesday, May 14th.
They were camped out at a rally at Arizona State University a few weekends earlier in support of Palestine, but were arrested for not leaving the site when ASU police tried to enforce the school’s curfew.
All were cited for trespassing, but when it came time for their court arraignments, ASU Police had not submitted any charges.
Judge Tyler Kissell then went on the record with each defendant to "scratch" their cases, which is similar to being dismissed.
Those charges may still be filed within 12 months of the arrest.
