The Mississippi Hospital Association recently named Brian K. Hogan, Administrator and Chief Executive Officer of Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto in Southaven, to serve on the Board of Governors as the Northeast Council Representative through June 20

Charity Lara, South Central Medical Center

Charity Lara recently attended and received certification for Community Interpreter Training: Medical, Educational and Social Service Interpreting (CIT) along with the Medical Terminology Training (MT) hosted by the Mississippi State Department of Health’s Office of Health Equity. The training lasted two weeks, April 10 – 19, 2024. 

During this course, Ms. Lara, along with the other registrants, learned interactive and educational skills and gained meaningful practice to allow them to be actively engaged in the entire community interpreter training course. 

Ms. Lara passed both the community and the medical tests. She is one of the six translators on staff at South Central Regional in the In-Person Translation Services department.

Community Health Clinic Renamed to Honor Dominican Sister

St. Dominic’s Community Health Clinic has been renamed to honor Sister Mary Trinita Eddington who started the clinic and served patients as a nurse practitioner for more than 25 years.
