Cadillac`s introduction of the V-8 engine in 1915 marked a significant milestone in automotive history. While Cadillac wasn`t the inventor of the V-8 configuration, it was the first to achieve sustained volume production with this engine design. The original 1915 "L-head" V-8 engine produced 70 horsepower from a displacement of 5.1 liters, setting a new standard for power and performance in the automotive industry at the time.
