Have you ever heard the saying, “the grass is always greener on the other side”? This phrase captures the tendency to wish for what others have, thinking it will bring us more happiness. However, true contentment comes from nurturing what we already have. How are you watering your grass today? #mentalhealthawareness #fypシ #northcarolina #counseling #therapy

Motivation is fleeting. You cannot rely on it to make the necessary changes in order to have the life you crave. Stop waiting for motivation, and start doing. You’ve got this! #mentalhealth #mentalhealthawareness #therapy #counseling #northcarolina #fyp

Embrace the stretch, not the strain. Growth thrives in discomfort, but safety is paramount. Find that sweet spot where challenge meets caution, and watch yourself thrive. #mentalhealth #therapy #therapyquote #quote #counseling #growth #beingbetter

When we inevitably make mistakes, it is important that we prioritize taking responsibility for the impact of our choices rather than the intent we may have had. Focusing on the impact allows us to acknowledge and validate the harm we have caused, express empathy and understanding, take ownership over our own actions, highlight the growth opportunity we face, and promotes the rebuilding of trust. Intentions can and should be recognized, but they should not be the most important aspect of the conversation. Highlighting your intentions more than the impact your choices had minimizes the actual apology and the person who you hurt, consequently amplifying you instead. Let’s all work to be better at addressing the impact of our actions rather than the intent! #therapy #counseling #NorthCarolina #quotes #motivationalquote #inspirational #inspirationalquotes #mentalhealthmatters #mentalhealthawareness #fypシ

It’s natural for us to seek connections with others. However, to foster meaningful relationships, it’s essential to embrace vulnerability by being open about our thoughts and feelings, even when it feels daunting. As our Clinical Supervisor, Kelsey Milam, MSW, LCSW, CCTP, says, “Vulnerability drives connection.” Without this openness, our relationships remain superficial, continuing the feelings of loneliness and isolation. Vulnerability is a muscle that we can all learn how to strengthen, so how are you going to work on strengthening your vulnerability muscle today? #mentalhealth #mentalhealthawareness #mentalhealthmatters #fyp #northcarolina #counseling #therapy #motivation #inspiration #quote

Sometimes when we begin to process a situation, we find ourselves feeling two (or more) opposing feelings and it can confuse us. We might have thoughts like, “I can’t be grateful and mad at this person at the same time. Can I?” Lisa Wilsey, along with our other wonderful clinicians at Wake Counseling and Mediation, are here to tell you that while it might feel confusing, two (or more) opposing feelings CAN be true at the same time. The human experience is complicated, nuanced, etc. It is only fitting that we should be allowed to feel multiple things at the same time. You are valid. You will get through this. Two things can be true at the same time. What are you doing today to take care of yourself? #mentalhealth #mentalhealthawareness #fyp #therapy #counseling #motivation
