Attorney Brian Holmes joined our Columbia office in July of last year and has proved to be a rising star at our firm! Brian shared these photos that help tell the story of his career path and show how he likes to let loose outside of the courtroom. 🎼 Flashing back to the late '90s, Brian was a rising star in the world of music. Throughout his grade school years in Mt. Pleasant, he honed his skills as a classical and jazz trombonist. During High School, he held multiple positions at the State and National level including first chair for classical trombone in the state. He attended USC in Columbia on over-max music scholarship for both classical and jazz trombone. 📚 While Attorney Holmes initially set his sights on a career in music, his path took an unexpected turn during his college years. During this time he found his calling in the field of law, where his dedication and intellect continue to shine. In 2013, he had the incredible opportunity to meet and spend time with the iconic Justice Sandra Day O'Connor during a symposium hosted by the Charleston School of Law's flagship Law Review. As a joint Articles and Research editor, he played a pivotal role in ensuring the success of the event. 🎉 Beyond the courtroom, Attorney Holmes shares a deep love for live music and unforgettable experiences with his wife, Ashley. From rocking out at concerts to embarking on exciting adventures, they cherish every moment together, including their memorable trip to the "When We Were Young" festival in Las Vegas. You might remember Holly from a recent post celebrating her 25 amazing years with Joye Law Firm! Holly works as a Case Manager in our North Charleston office and has a special place in her heart for her fur-babies. Now that her son is grown, her pets are her world. Check out these adorable photos Holly shared: 1️⃣ Buster, always picking on Ruby, but she definitely holds her own! Buster turns 2 this year, and Ruby will be 12. 2️⃣ Gracie, who will be 4 this year, is Holly's little shadow, making it hard to get all three together for a photo! 3️⃣ Buster loves the water and sharing a float with Holly! 4️⃣ Ruby has loved the pool since she was a puppy and can be found floating around on her own float all summer long. 5️⃣ Buster gets to live next door to his brother Maverick. We're thrilled to sponsor the annual Troop Appreciation Fishing Derby hosted by the Troop Appreciation Foundation on Thursday, June 13th. Founded in 2012 by Lake Murray fishing guide, Capt. Mike Glover, the event seeks to give back to veterans who were wounded during service. This year 60 wounded warriors will go aboard 21 guide boats to fish for striped bass on Lake Murray. Participants will get to take their catch home and receive a catered lunch from Farm Boy BBQ. Attorney Brian Holmes of our Columbia office will be there to cast his support and cheer them on!
